despite her anxiety and a terrible start to the day it all worked out in the end. Keisha went through a boring day of orientation, listening to the HR department go through its spill of do’s and don’ts. She filled out a ton of paperwork and watched a few videos all in all an uneventful day of training, she did call her father during one of her breaks and he informed her he would be there to pick her up from work.
Keisha’s father a retired engineer, and current pastor of the fourth Episcopal trinity mission, of the true God relating to the living God on the cross Baptist evangelical church of Maryland;
His name is Eugene R. Jenkins, he is a modest man and very humble. Keisha is his only child; he will do anything for her. He didn’t want her to move out until she was married, and of course to someone he approved of, but he is a hard man to please when it comes to his baby girl.
The day is finally over and it’s time for Keisha to leave as she was headed for the elevator, she heard someone calling her name
“Keisha, Keisha” it was Bert her new supervisor, she turned in the direction of his voice. He was standing there with a few of her new co-workers. She walked over and with every step all eyes were on her. She felt a little uncomfortable as she made her way to Bert.
“Come on here Keisha I want to introduce you to your team of coworkers” standing there was Peter, Danielle, Mary and Tristan.
Peter a proud gay black man; he earned his master’s in business finance. He has been with NOAA for seven years, he is the office gossiper if there is any dirt he will sniff it out like a blood hound. He once started a rumor that one of the security people was a Taliban. Poor man came to work one day and was stripped searched had his locker searched and was harassed to the point where he quit his job and is now working at seven eleven.
Danielle started as a temp she is a young Spanish girl, her name is Daniela Maria Sanchez, she has been with NOAA for three years and is known as the office crier. She is sensitive and the slightest amount of criticism and she off to tears.
Mary is the senior person on Bert’s team; she has been with NOAA for eighteen years. She is forty nine years old. She is a Christian woman saved as the earth is round, everything is about Jesus. She has bible study and prayer meetings in the break room
And then there is Tristan a young nicely built Caucasian man. He spends more time in the office gym then he does at his desk. He spent ten years in the marines and at the age of twenty nine he is nothing more than eye candy for the desperate housewives of NOAA. Although since he’s arrived gym membership has risen.
Peter says
“Hey girl if you need any help I am right here for you”
“Thank you” she says, Bert jumped in
“Keisha this is the team, Peter, Mary, Danielle, and Tristan”
“Hi everyone nice to meet you all” she says
“Nice to meet you too” Tristan says while looking her up and down
“Praise the lord, are you saved young lady” Mary asked
“You can’t asked that Mary” Peter says
Then Bert steps in
“Your cubicle will be right here next to Danielle” he showed her, her area and went back to his office down the hall by the Copy room.
“It was nice meeting you all I will see you all tomorrow” They all say bye and she heads for the elevators
Tristan turned to peter and whispered
“I’m gonna hit that, you know coffee and cream goes together”
“I feel you, it truly does, I like cream in my coffee too” Peter has the biggest crush on Tristan
“I told you I only date women Mrs. Pete” Peter looked at him and said
“Who said anything about a date? I said cream in my coffee” Tristan laughed then walked away. Peter thought to himself
‘Any other man would have been mad if I came on to them, soooooo if he isn’t mad then perhaps………………..maybe”
About five minutes later Peter computer alerted him he had an email, he opened it and to his surprise it was Tristan and the email read
‘I am not gay and I don’t like men but we can hang out sometime if you like’ peter was like
“I knew it. No man can resist all of this” to be honest peter has the body of Gene Anthony Ray from fame and the face of a young ‘Little Richard’ he has nice hair and green eyes and he likes straight men and he is in pursuit of Tristan and from the looks of it ……………….well, we will see what happens next time.
